Synopsis:

This is a very good book about the pollution in our environment from Coal plants and animal farms. It also tells about our oil addiction and the important water issues.
It's not a political book.

Table of contents:

Seven very goos chapters with real examples of each part of the environmental damage they mention. It also includes things you can do.
1- the art of the possible
2 a body of evidence
3 abuse of power
4 the water of life
5 global climate change
6 drill drill and drill some more, energy opportunity lost
7 prospecting the future

Review:

Excellent examples in every chapter with facts that I have not read before. For example they tell about the power utilities making so much ait pollution from coal plants that could be cleaned up. The US Government had identified many plnats that were in violation and had told them to clean up with technology we already have.
Then the first Bush administration put it off, Regan also blew it off and the present Bush pasted it off. They have never cleaned up and are building many more coal plants.
There are also examples of huge factory farms putting their animal waste into our water supply, rivers and lakes that are dying and most impressive how a few people fought this and helped clean some back up. It is possible to make a difference.
On the what can we do they tell how only efficiency, renewables and cleaning up coal can help. They list the 3 biggest isses with nuclear so that is out.
I waas very impress with this book.
