ENERGY VICTORY

There is no body to this book, only the ones lost to nuclear and poor solutions.

Author:

Robert Zubrin

Rating:

5

Synopsis:

This book offers ideas the author has to break free of oil. It gives some good facts in the first 4 chapters . His basic premise is that nothingwill work except bio-fuels.

Late in chapter 4 he loses me telling how conservation doesn't work, he also shows why he thinks solar won't work.

I feel his all or nothing misguided approch is very bad. He never seems to consider using solar and wind and geo-thermal and conservation. To him it's all or nothing. His numbers on the cost of Nuclear and solar are backwards.

The more I read the more I felt betrayed to sound science and engineering .

I WOULD AVOID THIS BOOK IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR FACTS.

Table of contents:

This is 13 chapters with some good facts and some very poor information. It's 261 pages of information from behind a desk and not in my real world.

He states the 5 key problems of nuclear energy are all simple to fix and clear up. This is more poor information from my experience.  He even states there have only been 2 nuclear accidents while there have been at least 3 documented ones. None of his simple fixes are in place even after 30 years of use and costs that are out of site.

Review:

In my opinion this is very poor science. I would swear he works for a nuclear company. In fact he works for Pioneer Astronautics, an aero-space company, doing R and D.

He doesn't live or teach real life like Ed Begely Jr does. This guys talks but doesn't practice what he claims is the easy solution.  This book scares me with it's poor solutions.

I was very interested in the first few chapters but then very upset the more I read.
